Server virtualized Configuration to be used as a cluster node

Here the minimum requirements for a Server virtualized configuration to be used as a clusternode are to be seen. Examples are VMWare Server or XEN.

Node configuration:

RAM[MB] Diskspace[GB] Guest OS Type Software
>=512 >=6 Linux any VMWare Server 1.0.3
>=512 >=6 Linux any VMWare Infrastructure Node (ESX) VI3
>=512 >=6 Linux XEN 3.x

Notes:

VMWare:

VMWare Server is tested with Linux and Windows and is supposed to be running with latest software version. Also note that VMWare Workstation or Player are not tested and are not expected to work. VMWare Infrastructure VI3 should be running without problems.

Tested are both the open-sharedroot cluster and the comoonics version of anaconda.

Also note that fencing with vmware is not properly working with VMware version for 64bit as the perl tools are not working there.

XEN:

The latest XEN Version provided with RHEL5 is known to be working as base for open-sharedroot Guests. A XEN Host Cluster can also be used.

The comoonics version of anaconda is not yet tested with XEN. This is expected to be changed soon.
